Charleston Chinese Academy (CCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization dedicated to promoting Mandarin language education, preserving and celebrating Chinese cultural heritage, and fostering cross-cultural understanding in the Charleston community.
Our mission is to provide meaningful, accessible, and engaging educational opportunities for children, youth, adults, and families. Through language instruction, cultural programs, academic enrichment, STEM education, and community activities, we help students develop language skills, confidence, curiosity, leadership, and a deeper appreciation for different cultures.
CCA offers programs for learners of different ages and backgrounds, including Mandarin Chinese language classes, Chinese cultural education, mathematics enrichment, STEM and coding programs, robotics, arts, calligraphy, chess, and other educational and enrichment activities. We also provide opportunities for students and families to participate in cultural celebrations, community service, leadership development, and cross-cultural events.
We believe that language and culture education can build bridges between communities. By creating a welcoming environment where people from different backgrounds can learn together, CCA seeks to strengthen cultural understanding, encourage community connections, and prepare young people to become engaged and compassionate members of an increasingly diverse society.
As a community-based nonprofit, CCA relies on tuition, charitable donations, grants, volunteers, and community partnerships to sustain and expand our programs. Support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and corporate giving programs helps us provide educational opportunities, enrichment programs, cultural activities, and community service initiatives to more families in the Charleston area.
